About the Event
The New Moon & Winter Solstice calls us into reflection, returns us to a centered heart, and expands our sense of community.
In this ceremony, we'll learn about and share ceremonial grade cacao, a plant medicine indigenous to the lands and peoples of Central and South America. We'll drop into a reflective journaling practice, an open heart sharing circle, and integrate by receiving sound healing. Be sure to bring a journal and pen, water, and something to sit on like a cushion, blanket, or yoga mat.
**Please arrive at 5:45—the opening circle will begin at 6!**
Autumn Màiri is a Sacred Plant Ceremonialist, who's been dedicated to the plant empowerment path for 6+ years, receiving a comprehensive Cacao and Ayurvedic Herbalist education. It's Autumn Màiri's appreciation and love for the teachings of master plants that brings her to serve the community through folk medicine and ceremony. May we all remember the surrounding Earth magick and medicine that supports us, aho.
📢 Important Update
Our intention is not to replicate or reproduce traditional ceremonies of the Central and South American indigenous people's practices of cacao.
We openly acknowledge that our facilitator's ancestral lineage is different than that of the medicine we serve, but she has been initiated into the knowledge of cacao medicine to use in modern cacao ceremonies, not in traditional indigeneous ceremonies. Most of the information that has been shared with Autumn has come from the Zapotec leader, Maria, from Oaxaca, Mexico.
We invite curiosity and questions. We encourage you to use your voice and to give feedback regarding this offering.
We are here to serve and to listen.
Cacao Trade and Sourcing
We'll be drinking and learning about Ora's Spiced Oaxacan cacao☕️ This ceremonial grade cacao is sourced from Ademayach in Guatemala— a 180 hectare farm, that currently has 125 families in its community and where cacao cultivation remains to be 90% of this communities source of income.
