About the Event
A Hands-On Craft
Dustin Cecil, the person behind broomtown, will walk you through making several broom charms. Using tassels of broom-corn (also known as sorghum) we’ll follow the traditional method of broom making.
Everyone will get to make 4-8 little brooms! You can expect to set aside three hours for this workshop, although you might finish before we wrap up for the night. We will also go over basic weaving techniques so anyone can join in.
Registration closes July 28!
For further questions about this workshop, don’t hesitate to contact Dustin (mr.dustincecil@gmail.com)
𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭? This is not a continuation or advanced-level workshop (but we wouldn't blame you for wanting to make more brooms🧙♀️)
Meet the Maker
Dustin Cecil has been working on his craft since 2018. Using the traditional method of hand-weaving broom corn (also called sorghum), broomtown carries a plethora of brooms in all sizes and styles made by Dustin himself. Besides brooms, Dustin makes various handicrafts like broom corn dolls and broom charms.
broomtown is based in Olive Hill, KY and you can find some of their inventory on Etsy!
